Jyoti, Bangladesh’s leading smart sanitary pad vending machine platform, recently joined the ACF workshop on “Nexus Programming for Climate Resilience in Bangladesh” at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Gulshan. The event gathered government officials, development leaders, academics, and innovators to discuss community-driven climate resilience. Jyoti showcased its Jyoti Mini Smart Vending Machine as an example of Smart menstrual hygiene solution in Bangladesh at the exhibition, and the team shared insights on how digital hygiene solutions strengthen resilience in climate-affected regions.
Moreover, Jyoti is supporting Action Against Hunger (ACF) in remote and climate-vulnerable areas by partnering with FIVDB in Dowarabazar, Sunamganj, and Uttaran in Morelganj, Bagerhat. Together, these organizations are deploying 13 smart sanitary pad vending machines across hard-to-reach schools, ensuring that adolescent girls gain reliable access to safe menstrual hygiene products.
These two upazilas face frequent climate shocks—floods in Sunamganj and cyclones/tidal surges in Bagerhat. Therefore, uninterrupted menstrual hygiene access remains a major challenge for schoolgirls. Jyoti’s IoT-enabled machines bridge this gap by ensuring accessible, affordable, and dignified menstrual hygiene solutions.
Each machine supports multiple pad types, digital payments, and real-time refill alerts, ensuring both convenience and reliability. Consequently, girls no longer miss school during menstruation, and teachers can maintain a supportive learning environment. The initiative also strengthens digital inclusion, as students confidently use Jyoti Cards and mobile payments to purchase pads
The participating Jyoti team displayed the Jyoti Mini machine at the workshop and interacted with development partners about its role in public health, gender equality, and climate resilience. Their demonstration highlighted how Jyoti’s technology reduces product shortages, supports supply chains during climate disruptions, and ensures that menstrual hygiene is never compromised.
Through these partnerships, Jyoti continues to champion SDG 3, SDG 5, and SDG 6, while helping vulnerable communities adapt to climate challenges with dignity and innovation.
